Volvo is preparing to launch the refreshed 2025 XC60 in India on August 1, bringing subtle but significant updates to its luxury mid-size SUV. The XC60 has been Volvo’s most successful model globally, with over 2.7 million units sold, outpacing even the iconic 240 series.

What To Expect From Volvo’s Best-Selling SUV This August

This facelift focuses on refined design, enhanced interior tech, and upgraded features while keeping the proven powertrain intact. Pricewise, it’s expected to carry a slight premium over the current ₹70.75 lakh (ex-showroom) pricing. Ahead of its launch, here’s how the updated XC60 looks poised to compete against rivals like the Mercedes‑Benz GLC, BMW X3, and Audi Q5.

Evolved Styling, Familiar Character ?

On the outside, the facelift maintains the familiar XC60 profile but with several modern touches. It gets a new front grille featuring diagonal slats and Volvo’s refreshed iron mark logo, along with reworked bumpers and sleek new alloy wheel designs. At the rear, the taillights receive a darker finish reminiscent of newer Volvo models, while new shades like Forest Lake, Aurora Silver, and the debuting Mulberry Red add a fresh palette. These cosmetic tweaks keep the XC60 design contemporary and align it with Volvo’s evolving design language, without overwhelming the refined Scandinavian look it’s known for.

Inside The Cabin: Bigger Screens & Smarter Systems

The most noticeable change inside is the larger 11.2-inch freestanding touchscreen, which replaces the previous 9-inch unit. Pixel clarity has been improved by around 20–21%, and the updated Snapdragon Cockpit Platform offers double the processing speed and up to ten times faster graphics. Android Automotive OS remains, complete with Google Maps, Assistant, Play Store access, and over-the-air updates, ensuring the interface stays modern over time. The cabin also features refined materials, fresh trim patterns, enhanced cupholders, upgraded wireless charger, and maintained premium amenities, like the Bowers & Wilkins sound system and optional laminated glass for quieter operation.

Volvo Sticks With Proven Mild-Hybrid Setup

Under the skin, the facelift retains the reliable 2.0-litre B5 mild-hybrid petrol engine, producing approximately 250 HP and 360 NM of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is expected to remain standard. While global markets receive plug-in hybrid variants (T6/T8), India’s lineup appears to stay limited to the mild-hybrid, delivering a smooth and fuel-efficient performance comparable to its current iteration. Expected performance remains strong, with 0–100 KM/H in around 6.9 seconds, meeting luxury SUV expectations and maintaining its competitiveness against core rivals.

Launching on August 1, it will likely carry a price increase while aiming to strengthen its position in the premium mid-size SUV market. For buyers looking for the latest tech, comfort, and a familiar drivetrain, the new XC60 delivers a polished update rather than a reinvention.
