It gets a boot space of 318 litres, which can further expand with 60:40 split-folding rear seats, along with a 7 litre frunk. The dashboard features a 12.3-inch vertical touchscreen that integrates most functions, including infotainment and climate control. It also gets a new 3-spoke steering wheel.

Powertrain, Range & Charging

The EX30 comes equipped with a 69 KWH lithium-ion battery pack, which supports a claimed range of up to 480 KM (WLTP). The SUV is powered by a rear axle-mounted electric motor that produces 272 HP and 343 NM. This RWD setup allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 KPH in 5.3 seconds, with a top speed limited to 180 KPH. The EX30 features a one-pedal driving mode, which enables brake regeneration strong enough to bring the EV to a complete stop without using the brake pedal.

Market Position

The launch of the EX30 marks an important step for Volvo in strengthening its electric vehicle presence in India. With its pricing, the vehicle has become the most affordable model of Volvo on sale in India. Its competitive price tag, decent performance figures, and long range may appeal to buyers seeking electric mobility without compromising on brand value. The limited-time introductory pricing may encourage early adopters. Its long-term success will depend on how the Indian charging infrastructure develops. It will rival the BMW iX1, BYD Sealion 7, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 in the EV space.
