The Volvo EX30, the brand’s smallest electric SUV, will launch in India in 2025. As an entry-level EV in Volvo’s lineup, the EX30 aims to attract a younger audience with its compact size, sustainable design, and modern technology. Here’s a detailed look at what to expect from the upcoming model.
Design

The EX30 follows Volvo’s modern minimalist design language, featuring clean lines, a closed front grille, and signature Thor’s Hammer LED headlights. Measuring around 4,233 MM in length, it is significantly smaller than the XC40 Recharge, making it suitable for urban driving. The SUV rides on large alloy wheels and includes flush door handles.
Interior

Inside, the EX30 has a clean cabin made with sustainable materials. It is expected to have a 12.3-inch vertical infotainment display that uses Google built-in services, including Google Maps, Assistant, and the Play Store. Wireless support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will likely be available.
Other anticipated features include a panoramic glass roof, a premium sound system, improved climate control, and various connected car features.
Powertrain

Globally, the EX30 is available in three versions: Single Motor (RWD), Extended Range Single Motor, and Twin Motor Performance (AWD). Power outputs go from 272 HP to 428 HP. Battery sizes range from 51 kWh to 69 kWh, providing a WLTP-certified range of up to 480 KM in the long-range model. The performance variant claims an acceleration time of 3.6 seconds from 0 to 100 KM/H.

India is set to get the long-range single-motor version first, offering a good mix of performance and practicality.
Safety

Volvo is known for safety, and the EX30 is expected to include a full suite of advanced safety systems such as Pilot Assist, Lane Keeping Aid, Blind Spot Monitoring, Collision Mitigation, and multiple airbags. The SUV is also likely to score highly on the upcoming Bharat NCAP ratings.
Expected Price
While official pricing is not yet available, the EX30 will likely be priced around ₹50 Lakh to ₹55 Lakh (ex-showroom) in India. It will compete with EVs such as the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and BYD Seal.
