Volkswagen India has launched a new Flash Red colour option for its Taigun GT Line and Virtus GT Line models. This change offers a new look for customers wanting a sportier style in Volkswagen’s mid-size SUV and sedan lineup. Although the new colour changes the appearance, the mechanical specs and features stay the same.
What’s New?

The addition of the Flash Red variant, specifically offered on the GT Line trims, which already feature blacked-out styling elements, including a gloss-black roof, darkened alloy wheels, and black ORVMs, gives the customer more choice when it comes to sporty colours. The contrast of Flash Red with these black elements gives the cars a more performance-inspired look.

On the Taigun GT Line, the Flash Red body along with the dual tone finish with blacked out pillars, gives it a floating roof effect. These visual changes are targeted toward younger buyers who prioritise style along with performance.
Features & Interiors

Inside, the GT Line models continue to offer the same features as before. These include:
- 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Digital cockpit display
- Ventilated front seats and premium upholstery
- Safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, and hill-hold assist along with a 5-Star GNCAP safety rating
Powertrain
No mechanical changes have been made to the GT Line variants. Both the Taigun and Virtus GT Line are powered by Volkswagen’s 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 150 BHP and 250 NM of torque. A 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG transmission are available. This engine also features active cylinder technology for better fuel efficiency while cruising.
Competitors

With these updates, Volkswagen is doubling down on its appeal with younger, more performance-oriented customers to keep the Taigun and Virtus competitive in their respective segments. The Taigun rivals cars like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and Maruti Grand Vitara, while the Virtus competes with sedans such as the Honda City and the Hyundai Verna.
