Vietnamese automaker VinFast has officially launched the VF6 electric SUV in India, with prices starting at ₹16.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned as the entry point to the brand’s lineup, the VF6 is a compact EV that offers a blend of affordability some technology. The launch also marks VinFast’s intent to expand its footprint in India, with the VF6 joining the growing list of mid-range electric SUVs competing in this space. Design & Dimensions

The VF6 features smooth lines, a coupe-like silhouette and distinctive lighting elements that follow VinFast’s global styling language. Coming to dimensions, the VF6 is 4,241 MM long, 1,834 MM wide and 1,580 MM tall. The VF6 is offered in six monotone colour options, namely Crimson Red, Desat Silver, Infinity Blanc, Jet Black, Urban Mint, and Zenith Grey. These exterior colours are available across all VF6 variants.
Battery, Range & Performance

The VF6 comes equipped with a 59.6 KWH battery pack paired with a single electric motor. In its Earth variant, the motor produces 177 HP and 250 NM of torque, while the higher-spec Wind trim pushes output to 204 HP and 310 NM. This makes it go from 0 to 100 KM/H in 8.9 seconds. According to company figures, the VF6 delivers a driving range of up to 468 KM on a single charge for the Earth variant, while the Wind trim achieves 463 KM. This places it in direct competition with established models in India’s EV market. It gets two home-charging options, a 3.3KW and a 7.2KW AC charger. Fast-charging capability allows the battery to charge from 10 to 70 percent in about 25 minutes using a DC fast charger.
Features & Technology


Inside, the VF6 focuses on a minimalist yet connected cabin experience. A large 12.9-inch touchscreen houses the centre, managing infotainment, navigation and vehicle functions. The SUV supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside over-the-air updates for its software systems. Other highlights include a panoramic glass roof, ventilated front seats, leather upholstery and a customizable digital assistant. Safety has also been given attention, as it gets Level-2 ADAS. Features include lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, 360-degree camera and seven airbags as standard. The VF6 is also backed by a 7-year or 2,00,000 KM warranty, with the battery pack getting a 10-year or 2,00,000 KM warranty.
Market Position

With its launch price, the VF6 is set to compete against models like the MG ZS EV and Tata Nexon.ev. While VinFast is a newcomer in India, the VF6’s combination of equipment and warranty coverage may help it gain a spot in the growing electric vehicle segment.
