Vietnamese EV manufacturer VinFast has officially unveiled its largest Indian showroom in Chennai’s Teynampet district. At 4700 square feet, this new flagship showroom, run in partnership with Maansarovar Motors signals that VinFast is serious as it eyes expansion into the Indian market.
VF6 & VF7 On Display

Showroom visitors will get an up-close look at the electric VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs. Pre-bookings for these EVs opened on July 15, requiring a Rs 21,000 (fully refundable) deposit. The deposit being refundable highlights the necessity to build trust in a segment dominated by established brands and cautious customers, especially when the EV industry itself isn’t mainstream yet. The retail price is expected to be aggressively placed thanks to local assembly in the upcoming Thoothukudi plant, but has not yet been disclosed.
Expansion Plans & Green Commitments
The Chennai outlet is part of VinFast’s wider plan to open 35 showrooms across 27 Indian cities by the end of 2025. They have also entered partnerships with local industrial companies to enable after-sales support, charging infrastructure, & even battery recycling. VinFast’s clean-tech tie-up with BatX Energies shows that they want to project themselves as an eco-friendly option, especially as questions around EV battery lifecycle remain unanswered.

Scaling support, ensuring spare parts availability, & achieving competitive localisation will be the true test in the upcoming months. The recent Surat outlet launch and imminent Thoothukudi EV assembly plant inaugurations show fast progress, but it remains to be seen whether their service can keep up.
Conclusion

This Chennai mega-showroom shows us that the company is betting hard on rapid adoption and big volumes in a market rife with both potential and pitfalls. Actual ownership costs, service experience, & brand credibility will need to be earned with consistency.
