The Skoda Kushaq, an important model in the mid-size SUV market, will get its first major update since it launched in 2021. A facelifted version of the Kushaq was recently seen testing on Indian roads, showing what changes Skoda plans to make. Here’s a closer look at the updates based on the latest sightings.
Exterior

The test mule comes with heavy camouflage, suggesting notable style changes. While specific details are still under wraps, the updated Kushaq is expected to have a new front section with a redesigned grille, sleeker LED headlights, and a fresh bumper design. The rear may see updated tail-lamp graphics and a new bumper for a more modern appearance. Alloy wheel designs are also likely to change to match Skoda’s global design style.
Interior
Although the interior was not visible in the spy shots, reports suggest that Skoda may add new features to stay competitive in the segment. Expected updates include a larger touchscreen infotainment system with enhanced connectivity, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and possibly a 360-degree camera for added convenience. Skoda could also improve material quality and introduce new upholstery options.
Powertrain

The Kushaq facelift will likely keep the same engine options, a 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 115 PS and a 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that delivers 150 PS. Both engines are expected to offer the same transmission choices: a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic torque converter for the 1.0 TSI, and a 7-speed DSG for the 1.5 TSI. Skoda has not announced any plans for hybrid or electric powertrains for this model yet.
Price

The updated Skoda Kushaq is expected to launch in India sometime in late 2025. Prices could see a slight increase over the current range, which starts at around ₹11.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift aims to keep the Kushaq competitive against rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate.
