Nomenclature
With the new naming scheme, all ‘C-cubed’ models now have a distinct identity after having dropped the common ‘C3′ terminology from their titles. This upgraded version of the Aircross was first showcased earlier last month alongside the Basalt launch.
New Features
The biggest talking point is the addition of an automatic climate control system and the full LED headlamps on the top trims. The rear power window buttons have been relocated to the rear door pads from the centre console previously, rear AC vents has been added, grab handle for the front passenger, electrically folding wing mirrors, flip style key, larger sliding front armrest and soft touch materials on the dashboard are part of the new kit.
Other features include 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment, 7 inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, rear parking camera with sensors and hill start assist. The higher spec Plus and Max variants can also be optioned with a third row for an additional ₹35,000. As for safety, six airbags and seat belt reminders for all seats have been made standard.
New Powertrain
The 82 HP, 115 N-m, 1.2 litre, three cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that is already on offer with the C3 hatchback has been introduced here as well, and is offered with only a five speed manual gearbox; allowing for a lower starting price.
The 110 HP, 190 N-m, 1.2 litre, three cylinder turbo petrol engine continues as before and comes with either a six speed manual transmission or torque converter automatic gearbox.
