While the manufacturer had already hinted that the Enyaq was coming to our shores, the addition of the Elroq as well, is news. Klaus Zellmer, CEO, Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited, at the 64th Annual Society Of Automobile Manufacturers (S.I.A.M.) convention, made it clear during his presentation that the company plans to launch two EVs in the country, but no timeline was provided regarding the launches.
The Enyaq had already made its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo2024 and at the announcement of the new sub-four metre crossover earlier this year, the automaker confirmed that they will launch an EV here, but it will come only after the sub-compact SUV. What remains to be seen is which variant of the Enyaq will be brought to our market, the top spec ‘85x‘ is most likely, but in CBU form. This variant produces 285 HP, 545 N-m of torque, powers all four wheels and has a 77 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 539 km.
The other EV headed to us will likely be the Elroq, which is yet to even make its global debut, and mostly like its sibling, it will probably come in its range topping version that might have all wheel drive (A.W.D.), 295 HP and an 85 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 560 km.
