Toyota Hyryder Variants Rejigged

Toyota has refreshed the variant lineup and has made minor changes to the equipment list of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder for the year 2025. The crossover will now set you back Rs 20,000 more.

Updates

The Hyryder now gets features such as an 8-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, rear door sunshades, and ambient lighting. Some variants also get an AQI monitor and a tyre pressure monitoring system. 15W USB-C charging ports and LED reading lamps are now part of the standard equipment list. Toyota has also made 6 airbags as standard for all variants, while some trims of the Hyryder now come with an electronic parking brake. Toyota has also discontinued the 5-speed manual transmission model on the AWD V variant, and has now replaced it with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Powertrain

Mechanically, the vehicle remains unchanged. The Hyryder comes with 2 engine options; a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 103 BHP and 136.8 NM of torque with both manual and automatic transmission options. This is a Maruti Suzuki engine, codenamed the K15C and is shared with cars like the Brezza & Jimny. The 4-wheel drive variant comes only with an automatic gearbox. The other engine option is a 92 BHP, 122NM, 1.5-liter 3-cylinder strong hybrid petrol engine. This engine is an original Toyota engine. The hybrid system consists of a 0.76 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor. The combined output stands at 116 BHP. This engine is paired to an e-CVT gearbox. Power is transferred only to the front wheels, and the claimed mileage for the strong hybrid variant stands at 27.7 km/L, making it a very compelling choice for high-mileage users.
