Toyota is set to introduce the Glanza facelift in India on October 14, 2026. The updated premium hatchback is expected to arrive around a month after the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift, with which it shares its platform and mechanicals.
The refreshed model is likely to receive similar updates as its Maruti sibling. These could include a new petrol engine, revised styling elements and additional safety and convenience features. However, Toyota is expected to retain its distinct front-end design to differentiate the hatchback from the Baleno.
New Petrol Engine Expected

The facelifted model is expected to replace the existing K12N 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with Maruti Suzuki’s new Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated unit.
This engine produces 83 HP and 112 NM. Furthermore, it is expected to be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT option. A factory-fitted CNG version, producing around 70 HP, is also likely to continue with a manual transmission.
Exterior Changes Could Be Limited
Design updates are expected to be subtle. Toyota could introduce a revised grille and a redesigned front bumper to maintain visual differentiation from the Baleno facelift.
Meanwhile, the headlamps, tail-lamps, alloy wheels and rear styling are likely to remain similar to the current model. Therefore, the overall design is expected to retain its familiar premium hatchback appearance.
More Features Likely To Be Added

The cabin layout is expected to remain largely unchanged. However, Toyota could add several features that have recently debuted on the Baleno facelift.
Expected additions include Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, a wireless charger with cooling function and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). However, features such as a sunroof and a fully digital instrument cluster are not expected.
Safety & Technology Updates
The addition of ADAS technology could significantly improve the safety package. Features such as adaptive cruise control, lane assist and autonomous emergency braking may become available on higher variants.
Moreover, Toyota is expected to continue offering multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and rear parking sensors as standard across the range.
Prices In India
The current Toyota Glanza is priced between Rs 6.73 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). With the facelift and additional features, Toyota is expected to introduce a slight price increase.
| Variant | Expected Price Range (Ex-Showroom) |
|---|---|
| Base Variant | Rs 6.90 lakh – Rs 7.10 lakh |
| Mid Variants | Rs 7.50 lakh – Rs 9.00 lakh |
| Top Variant | Rs 10 lakh – Rs 10.30 lakh |
Official prices will be announced at the time of launch on October 14.
Rivals In India
The updated hatchback will continue to compete in the premium hatchback segment. Key rivals include the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz and Hyundai i20.
Additionally, the expected feature upgrades and revised powertrain could help strengthen Toyota’s position in this highly competitive segment.
Verdict

The upcoming update is expected to bring meaningful improvements through a new engine, additional safety technology and more premium features. Although the design changes could remain modest, the feature additions may improve its appeal among premium hatchback buyers. As a result, the refreshed model is likely to remain an important offering in Toyota’s India portfolio.
