Smart+ L & Pure L Features

The entry-level Smart+ L adds several features over the standard Smart+ trim. These include leatherette seats and interior trim, wheel covers, auto-folding ORVMs, steering-mounted controls and roof rails.

Meanwhile, the Pure L adds a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. It also gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear camera and an 8-speaker sound system. Cruise control, TPMS, a rear wiper and washer and 17-inch alloy wheels also feature.

Pure L(O) & Pure+ L Features

The Pure L(O) sits between the Pure L and Pure+ L. It adds a panoramic sunroof, automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.

The Pure+ L brings more premium equipment. It gets ventilated front seats and a 6-way powered driver’s seat. Additionally, Tata offers dual-zone climate control, manual Boss mode, a thigh-support extender and a full leatherette interior. The Pure+ L also becomes the entry point for the 160 HP 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine with an automatic gearbox.

Adventure+ L Features

The Adventure+ L sits at the top of the Legend Series range. It gets several features from the higher-spec Sierra variants.

These include a 360-degree camera, frequency-dependent dampers and terrain modes. The SUV also gets dual 12.3-inch screens, front parking sensors, a reclining rear seat, ambient lighting, a cooled glove box and a wireless charging pad.

Powertrain Options

Most Legend Series variants retain the powertrains of their corresponding Signature Series trims. However, Tata has made a few changes to the engine and gearbox combinations.

The Pure+ L gets the 160 HP 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine with an automatic gearbox. It is now the entry point for this turbo-petrol powertrain in the Sierra range. The Adventure+ L also gets a 106 HP 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a DCT. Outside the Legend Series, Tata has added the same petrol DCT option to the standard Adventure+ trim.

Legend Series Vs Signature Series

The new Legend Series does not replace the existing Sierra variants. Instead, Tata has renamed the existing range as the Signature Series.

The main difference comes from equipment and pricing. The Legend Series brings several previously higher-spec features to more affordable trims. Therefore, buyers can access features such as ventilated seats, powered seats and panoramic sunroof without moving to the top of the Sierra range.

Prices In India

The Tata Sierra Legend Series starts at Rs 11.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.49 lakh, ex-showroom. The range includes petrol and diesel powertrains with manual and automatic transmissions. The five Legend Series trims are Smart+ L, Pure L, Pure L(O), Pure+ L and Adventure+ L.

Verdict

The Legend Series expands the Sierra range without changing its core design or replacing the existing variants. Instead, Tata has focused on equipment and variant positioning.

The biggest change comes from the way features are distributed. Buyers can now access equipment such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, powered driver’s seat, 360-degree camera and wireless charging at lower points in the range.

With prices starting at Rs 11.99 lakh, the Legend Series also gives Tata another way to position the Sierra across a wider price range. The Pure+ L and Adventure+ L bring the most significant feature additions, while the revised powertrain combinations further expand the choice.
