Tata Motors has released the first official teaser of the upcoming Sierra EV ahead of its June 30, 2026 debut. The electric SUV will become Tata’s seventh EV in India and will expand the brand’s growing electric vehicle portfolio. Moreover, the Sierra EV will borrow several components from the Harrier EV while retaining the iconic styling that made the Sierra name famous.

Exterior Design & Styling

The Sierra EV will closely resemble its ICE counterpart. It features a bold, boxy silhouette, connected LED headlamps, connected LED tail lamps, and the signature curved rear side glass. However, the EV version gets a sealed body-coloured front grille instead of the functional black grille seen on the Petrol and Diesel model. Higher variants are also expected to ride on stylish 19-inch alloy wheels.

Interior & Features

Inside, the Sierra EV will offer a premium and technology-focused cabin. Higher trims are expected to feature a triple-screen layout with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch passenger display. Additionally, buyers can expect a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a premium sound system, a Head-Up Display, multiple drive modes, and connected car technology.

Battery Pack & Performance

The Sierra EV is expected to share its powertrain with the Harrier EV. Therefore, Tata is likely to offer 65 KWH and 75 KWH battery packs. Buyers will also get Rear-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive options, with the AWD version expected only on the larger battery. Furthermore, the slightly smaller body could help the Sierra EV deliver a better driving range than the Harrier EV.

Platform & Technology

The Sierra EV will use Tata’s advanced acti.ev+ platform, which already underpins the Harrier EV. This architecture supports fast charging, improved efficiency, and enhanced safety. As a result, the Sierra EV is expected to deliver strong performance while offering a refined and comfortable driving experience.

Prices In India

Tata Motors has not officially announced the Sierra EV’s price. However, industry expectations suggest an ex-showroom price between ₹18 lakh and ₹25 lakh. The final pricing will be revealed during the official launch on June 30, 2026.

Position In Tata’s EV Lineup

The Sierra EV will sit between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV in Tata Motors’ electric SUV range. Consequently, it will strengthen Tata’s presence in the midsize electric SUV segment. The launch also highlights the company’s continued focus on expanding affordable electric mobility in India.

Rivals In India

Once launched, the Tata Sierra EV will compete with the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. Thanks to its heritage-inspired design, modern technology, and multiple battery options, the Sierra EV is expected to become one of the strongest contenders in the segment.

Conclusion

The Tata Sierra EV marks the return of one of India’s most iconic nameplates in an all-electric avatar. It combines modern styling with advanced EV technology and practical battery options. Moreover, its expected pricing and feature-rich package could make it a compelling choice for Indian buyers looking to switch to electric mobility.
