Tata Motors has officially revealed the production-ready Sierra EV ahead of its June 30 launch. The upcoming electric SUV retains the iconic Sierra design while adopting Tata’s latest EV styling cues. Moreover, the Sierra EV is expected to share several mechanical components with the Harrier EV, including battery options and all-wheel-drive technology. Positioned between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV, the Sierra EV will strengthen Tata’s growing electric vehicle portfolio.
Exterior Design & Styling
The Tata Sierra EV closely resembles its ICE-powered sibling. However, it receives EV-specific styling updates, including a body-coloured blanked-off grille and revised bumper treatment. The lighting setup remains unchanged, preserving the SUV’s modern appearance. Furthermore, gloss-black elements and silver skid plates add contrast to the front fascia. New EV-specific colour options are also expected to enhance its visual appeal.
Side Profile & Rear Design
The profile remains largely identical to the standard Sierra. Tata has retained the distinctive silhouette, large glass area, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, unique ‘Sierra.ev’ badges on the front doors and tailgate help distinguish the electric model. At the rear, the design remains clean and familiar, ensuring that the Sierra continues to stand out in the midsize SUV segment.
Interior & Features
Although Tata has not fully revealed the cabin, the Sierra EV is expected to offer a feature-rich interior. Higher variants will likely feature a triple-screen setup comprising a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and two 12.3-inch displays. Other expected highlights include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered seat adjustment, a premium audio system, a head-up display, and multiple drive modes.
Battery, Performance & Range
The Sierra EV is expected to use Tata’s advanced acti.ev+ platform. Battery options will likely include 65 KWH and 75 KWH packs borrowed from the Harrier EV. Tata has also confirmed an AWD variant, while lower trims are expected to feature RWD. Since the Sierra EV will be lighter than the Harrier EV, it could deliver a higher driving range than the Harrier EV’s claimed 627 KM figure.
Competition In India
The Tata Sierra EV will enter a highly competitive electric SUV market. Key rivals include the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, Maruti e Vitara, and future premium EV offerings. However, the Sierra EV could attract buyers with its retro-inspired styling, spacious cabin, advanced technology, and Tata’s growing EV ecosystem across India.
Prices In India
Tata Motors is expected to price the Sierra EV between ₹18 lakh and ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom). This positioning places it above the Curvv EV and below the Harrier EV. Depending on the battery pack and drivetrain configuration, buyers will have multiple variants to choose from. The final pricing will be announced at launch on June 30, 2026.
