Tata Motors has launched the Aeris in India at an introductory price of Rs 5.29 lakh, ex-showroom. Essentially, the new compact sedan is a facelifted version of the outgoing Tigor. However, Tata has given it a fresh design and several new features while retaining the existing petrol and CNG powertrains. The Aeris comes in five trims: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished. Meanwhile, bookings are now open, and deliveries will begin from October 11.
Tata Aeris Prices & Variants
The Tata Aeris comes with petrol and CNG powertrains, while buyers can choose between manual and AMT gearboxes. As a result, the range offers several combinations across its five trims. Prices start at Rs 5.29 lakh and go up to Rs 9.74 lakh, ex-showroom.
| Variant | Petrol MT | Petrol AMT | CNG MT | CNG AMT |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Smart | Rs 5.29 lakh | – | Rs 6.29 lakh | – |
| Pure | Rs 6.14 lakh | Rs 6.69 lakh | Rs 7.14 lakh | Rs 7.69 lakh |
| Pure+ | Rs 6.74 lakh | Rs 7.29 lakh | Rs 7.74 lakh | Rs 8.29 lakh |
| Creative | Rs 7.49 lakh | Rs 8.04 lakh | Rs 8.49 lakh | Rs 9.04 lakh |
| Accomplished | Rs 8.19 lakh | Rs 8.74 lakh | Rs 9.19 lakh | Rs 9.74 lakh |
For comparison, the outgoing Tigor started at Rs 5.70 lakh and went up to Rs 9.10 lakh. Therefore, the Aeris has a lower entry price but a higher top-end price. It continues to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura.
Tata Aeris Exterior Design

The Aeris gets a sharper exterior that takes several design cues from the Tiago hatchback. For instance, Tata has added sleeker LED headlights with eyebrow-style DRLs, a gloss-black grille and a revised bumper. The bumper also features pixel-shaped LED fog lamps.
In profile, the Aeris gets 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels on higher variants. Meanwhile, the Smart and Pure trims, along with all CNG variants, use 14-inch wheels. At the rear, slimmer LED taillights connect through a red trim. The revised bumper also gets a centrally positioned reverse parking light.
Furthermore, Tata offers the Aeris in six exterior colours: Nitro Crimson, Pure Grey, Dandeli Drizzle, Pristine White, Daytona Grey and Dune Glow.
Tata Aeris Dimensions & Boot Space
The Tata Aeris measures 3,995 MM in length, 1,684 MM in width and 1,532 MM in height. It also has a 2,450 MM wheelbase and 170 MM ground clearance. Meanwhile, the petrol version offers 419 litres of boot space.
For the CNG version, Tata uses a dual-cylinder setup. The supplied source expects its boot capacity to remain at 227 litres, matching the Tigor. Consequently, the Aeris retains a practical boot arrangement despite its CNG system.
Tata Aeris Interior & Features

Inside, the Aeris follows the Tiago-inspired dashboard design but uses a lighter cabin theme. It gets a semi-digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 2-spoke steering wheel with physical controls.
Additionally, Tata has introduced a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats and leatherette upholstery. The sedan also gets a DashCam Recorder function, which uses the surround-view cameras to record footage. However, the 6-speaker audio system represents a reduction from the outgoing model’s 8-speaker setup.
Tata Aeris Safety Features
For safety, Tata equips the Aeris with six airbags as standard. It also gets a 360-degree camera with blind-spot monitoring, a tyre pressure monitoring system and hill-hold control. In addition, ISOFIX child-seat anchorages come as part of the safety package.
The surround-view camera system also supports the DashCam Recorder function. As a result, the camera hardware serves both parking and recording functions.
Tata Aeris Petrol & CNG Powertrain
The Aeris retains the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine used by the Tigor. In petrol form, this engine produces 86 HP and 113 NM. Tata pairs it with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
Alternatively, buyers can choose the CNG version. In this configuration, the engine produces 76 HP and 97 NM. It also comes with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT options. These powertrain specifications remain the same as those offered with the pre-facelift Tigor and the current Tiago.
Tata Aeris Bookings & Deliveries
Tata Motors has opened bookings for the new Aeris in India. Meanwhile, deliveries will begin from October 11. With five trims and petrol and CNG options, the sedan covers a broad range of configurations.
Verdict

The Tata Aeris brings a refreshed exterior, a Tiago-inspired cabin and additional equipment to the Tigor-based package. At the same time, Tata has retained the existing petrol and CNG mechanicals. Its five-trim range, AMT availability and dual-cylinder CNG setup add further choice. Prices start at Rs 5.29 lakh and extend to Rs 9.74 lakh, ex-showroom.
