Tata Motors next big launch will probably be the Harrier EV. The electric version of the fairly popular mid-size crossover is in the works and is supposedly set to make its market debut in Q1 next year. Ahead of its launch, fresh spy pictures of what seems to be the production ready car, reveal the interior in great detail.
Interior
The dashboard layout will be identical to that of the ICE version. Some of the main talking points include a large 12.3 inch infotainment touchscreen system, a wireless phone charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a four spoke steering wheel, dashboard mounted speakers, the touch based haptic feedback HVAC panel, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a stubby gear selector lever and a rotary dial for drive modes.
Features
Also similar to the ICE version, the EV will also come loaded with other features like the large panoramic sunroof, a digital driver’s instrument cluster, 360 degree surround cameras with blind spot monitor and a Level 2 ADAS suite. As on the safety front, we expect it to be fully loaded just like its diesel counterpart and to score well in the crash tests just like the other cars in the automaker’s model line up.
Powertrain
The technical specifications of the car are not out yet, but what we know so far is that it will be the first EV from the carmaker to be offered in an all wheel drive (AWD) configuration. Additionally, considering that the Curvv EV has a battery pack with an ARAI certified range of 585 km, we expect the Harrier EV to deliver a claimed range of 600+ kms on a single full charge.
