Tata Curvv Selected Variants See Price Hike

1 min read

Tata Motors has increased prices for its Curvv model, with adjustments primarily affecting the petrol-powered versions. While the change isn’t substantial, the entry-level cost still starts at Rs 10 Lakh, selected variants moved slightly upward by Rs 13,000, positioning the model marginally higher within the midsize SUV category.

Market Position & Features

The Curvv is part of the competitive midsize SUV segment, where it competes with models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Its exterior styling, which includes a coupe-like roofline, distinguishes it from more traditionally shaped SUVs.

Inside, the Curvv includes commonly expected features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument display, ventilated seats, automatic climate control, and smartphone connectivity. Higher trims also include safety equipment like six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control, features now standard or expected in the segment.

Powertrain

Currently, the Curvv is available with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing about 118 horsepower and over 170 NM of torque, a 1.2-litre GDI turbo-petrol with 123 horsepower and 225 NM of torque. Transmission options include manual and automatic.

A diesel version features a 1.5-litre engine rated at approximately 116 horsepower and 260 NM of torque, similar to what Tata uses in other models.

Reason

The price revision appears to be influenced by a combination of factors, including raw material cost increases, regulatory compliance (such as safety updates), and the addition of new features. This type of pricing adjustment has become common across the automotive industry over the past year.

Buyer Implications

For prospective buyers, especially those comparing midsize SUVs, price remains a key consideration. The coupe-inspired styling remains one of its few visual differentiators in a segment where most models adopt similar proportions. The Curvv’s revised pricing puts it within the typical range of rivals but may influence purchase decisions depending on final on-road costs and feature-value balance.
