Starting July 2025, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) will officially take charge of Bentley’s operations in India. To support this change, the company has created a new subsidiary called Bentley India, which will operate under the SAVWIPL umbrella. This entity will now be responsible for importing, distributing, and servicing Bentley vehicles in the Indian market. The new structure intends to improve operations by integrating Bentley into the Volkswagen Group’s unified management in India.

Dealership Plans

Abbey Thomas has been named the Brand Director for Bentley India. His job includes building a dedicated team and outlining the brand’s strategy for the Indian market. He will report to Jan Bures, the Executive Director for Sales, Marketing, and Digital at SAVWIPL. Bentley India plans to set up dealerships in Bengaluru and Mumbai, with a showroom in New Delhi to follow. Existing showrooms run by Exclusive Motors will remain operational during this transition, while new partnerships are being considered, particularly in South India.
Bentley India Sales

Bentley has had a limited but steady presence in India for more than twenty years. The vehicles are sold as completely built units, with popular models like the Bentayga, Flying Spur, and Continental GT. In 2023, Bentley sold about 80 units in India, with the Bentayga SUV accounting for over 60% of those sales. The Indian market is still small for ultra-luxury vehicles, but ongoing interest from wealthy individuals supports the brand’s future potential.
Future Outlook

With Bentley’s operations now merged under SAVWIPL, the brand should gain from Volkswagen Group’s well-established logistics, after-sales network, and homologation systems. This approach has already been used for other premium brands in the group, such as Porsche and Lamborghini. SAVWIPL, which also oversees Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi, and other group brands, thinks this decision will help Bentley boost its customer support, improve service efficiency, and increase its presence in India’s growing luxury automobile market.
