Skoda Auto India has revealed the fourth-generation Superb in India ahead of its expected launch in the first half of 2027. The flagship sedan will return as a completely built unit (CBU) import in its range-topping Laurin & Klement (L&K) specification.
The India-spec Superb will bring back a diesel engine to Skoda’s India portfolio. Customers can now register their interest at Skoda dealerships, with deliveries expected to begin in the second quarter of 2027.
What’s New
The new India-spec Superb gets a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine producing 150 HP and 360 NM. It comes with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive. The sedan also gets Matrix LED headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, wraparound LED tail-lamps, a 12.9-inch touchscreen, a 10-inch digital driver’s display, three-zone climate control and a 14-speaker Canton sound system. It also gets a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS.
Skoda Superb Diesel Engine & Gearbox
The India-spec Superb uses a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine with 150 HP and 360 NM. Power is sent to the front wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Skoda claims a 0-100 KM/H acceleration time of 9.2 seconds, while the electronically limited top speed stands at 225 KM/H. A more powerful 193 HP diesel with AWD was showcased at the 2025 Auto Expo, but Skoda has ruled out that version for the India-spec model.
Superb Gets Dynamic Chassis Technology
The India-spec Superb will feature Progressive Dynamic Steering and Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC). These systems adjust the car’s handling characteristics according to the selected driving mode, speed and road conditions.
The DCC system allows the suspension setup to vary according to driving conditions. This gives the Superb different handling characteristics without changing its core mechanical layout.
Exterior Design
The fourth-generation Superb retains the model’s understated sedan design. At the front, it gets Skoda’s signature grille with chrome slats and a chrome surround. The bumper features honeycomb air inlets and a horizontal chrome element.
The sedan gets Matrix LED headlights with a cornering function and LED DRLs with welcome and goodbye animations. It also features standard 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, chrome window surrounds and Laurin & Klement badges on the front fenders. At the rear, wraparound LED tail-lamps feature similar welcome animations. The tailgate also carries the Skoda wordmark.
Dimensions & Boot Space
The India-spec Superb measures 4,912mm in length and 1,849mm in width. It has a height of 1,511mm and a wheelbase of 2,841mm. The listed ground clearance and boot capacity correspond to the UK-spec model, as India-specific figures have not been confirmed.
Interior & Features
The Superb gets a dual-tone black-and-Cognac cabin with leatherette upholstery. Its dashboard features a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-inch digital driver’s display and a three-spoke steering wheel.
Other equipment includes a 14-speaker Canton sound system, three-zone climate control, a 25-Watt wireless charger, rear sunblinds and a powered tailgate with gesture support. The front seats also offer power adjustment, memory, heating, ventilation and massage functions.The sedan also comes with a standard Sleep Package. It includes adjustable headrests for the outer rear seats and two blankets.
Safety Features
The India-spec Superb will get 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera and Level 2 ADAS. It also features an electronic parking brake, tyre-pressure monitoring system and automatic parking assistance. The Skoda Superb has gotten a 5 star safety rating in Euro-Ncap, and will also come with a host of driving stability systems with progressive dynamic steering.
Skoda Diesel Returns To India
The arrival of the new Superb marks the return of a Skoda diesel in India after the brand stopped offering diesel engines in the country. The wider Volkswagen Group also ended its diesel engine availability in India in 2020, before BS6 emission norms came into effect.
The new Superb will therefore become the first Skoda diesel offered in India in several years. It will arrive as a CBU import in the top-spec L&K trim.
Price In India
Skoda has not announced the final price of the new Superb in India. As a CBU import, the sedan is expected to be positioned in the premium segment, with an estimated price of Rs 55 lakh to Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom).
The final price will depend on the import structure and taxes applicable when the Superb goes on sale. Potential changes to import duties following the India-EU Free Trade Agreement could also influence its final positioning.
Rivals
The new Superb will enter a limited premium sedan segment in India. Its primary rival will be the Toyota Camry, which currently occupies a similar position in the market. The Superb will offer a diesel powertrain, a larger cabin and extensive equipment. Its CBU positioning and final pricing will play an important role in determining how it compares with the Camry.
