Škoda’s upcoming sub-compact SUV has been named ‘Kylaq‘ and is set to arrive in early 2025. It will compete in the highly contested under four metre SUV segment. Let us dive into the details we have gathered so far and have a look at what the name means.

The car maker had run an open to all campaign called ‘Name Your Škoda‘ where people submitted names for this SUV, where the given criteria was that the name had to start from ‘K’, end with ‘Q’ and not have more than two syllables. With over 2 lakh participants and 24,000 entries, Kylaq won via having the most votes.
Drivetrain
It will be powered by the same one-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine which is also found in the Kushaq, Slavia and also the VolkswagenTaigun, Virtus. The motor produces 115 HP, 178 N-m of Torque and it is mated to a six-speed gearbox, either manual or automatic (torque convtertor).
