The legendary Skoda Octavia, the benchmark for all D-segment sedans in India is going to make a comeback in India after being discontinued in 2020. The sporty Octavia vRS is also slated for launch via the completely built unit (CBU) route.
Design
The 2025 Skoda Octavia continues Skoda’s sleek and modern design language. It features a refreshed front fascia with their signature blacked-out Butterfly grille and updated Skoda Crystal headlights. The sporty front bumper makes it look aggressive, while the lowered ride height and 19-inch alloy wheels appeal to younger buyers. The rear features split LED taillights, unlike other offerings on the market.
Interior
Inside, the Octavia comes with a cabin that balances sportiness and comfort. The dashboard is dominated by a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. The driver gets a 10.25-inch digital display, with well-contoured front seats suited to spirited driving. It has many comfort features such as dual-zone climate control. The dashboard is finished in leather.
The Octavia vRS
The Octavia vRS is a car that is unique in more ways than one. It has a legendary reputation amongst enthusiasts for being the most fun-to-drive car in its segment and the segment above as well. It offered explosive performance, sharp handling and strong brakes – it was the most dynamically accomplished vehicle and punched way above its weight. The return of the Octavia vRS would be excellent news for enthusiasts and youngsters alike.
Powertrain Options
The Octavia will come with a wide range of engine choices, featuring a 1.5L turbo-petrol delivering 150 BHP & 250 Nm, and a 2.0L turbo-petrol with 190 BHP & 320 Nm, both paired to 7-speed DSG transmissions. The Octavia vRS would come with up to 265 BHP & 370 Nm, sharing its powertrain with cars like the Audi A6. A 2.0L TDI diesel engine might come as well, marking the comeback of diesel engines in India from the Volkswagen Group. The last generation of the Octavia in India came only with the 2.0L TSI turbo-petrol engine.
