The Kylaq will be an all new and the smallest product from the carmaker in India under its ‘2.5’ strategy and will make its global debut on 6 November 2024. It will become the entry level offering and the most affordable crossover from the automaker in India. Ahead of its unveil, a base spec test mule of the car was seen.

Interior And Features

These fresh new spy shots provide the first glimpse inside the cabin of the base model of the Kylaq. It has a two spoke steering wheel, an analogue instrument cluster and a gear lever that appears identical to the one found in its elder siblings, the Kushaq and Slavia. Also, it did not feature any touchscreen infotainment unit as well.

Exterior

As we already know, it features a split front light setup with the headlights being positioned below the DRLs. The test mule spied was equipped with 16 inch wheels and black covers over them; also lacked a rear wiper and defogger as well, indicating clearly that it was the base variant.

Powertrain

Will be powered by the same 1.0 litre TSI turbo petrol engine which does duty in the Kushaq, Slavia, Taigun and Virtus. It produces 115 HP and 178 N-m of torque and will be paired with a six speed transmission, either manual or automatic (torque converter).

Price And Rivals

Expected to be priced from ₹8 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival the likes of the:

  • Tata Nexon
  • Maruti Suzuki Brezza
  • Kia Sonet
  • Hyundai Venue
  • Mahindra XUV 3XO
  • Maruti Suzuki Fronx
  • Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor
