The upcoming facelift of the Skoda Kushaq has been spotted testing in India, offering a first look at the changes being introduced to the mid-size SUV. The test vehicle shows several exterior modifications, suggesting a visual refresh aimed at keeping the model competitive in its segment.

Exterior Changes Observed
Spy shots reveal updates mainly to the front and rear sections of the SUV. The front now includes slimmer, connected LED daytime running lights, a narrower grille, and a reprofiled bumper. The headlamps retain their split design but with a more streamlined appearance. At the rear, the Kushaq now features L-shaped LED tail-lamps connected by a light bar spanning the tailgate. A redesigned rear bumper and new alloy wheel designs were also noted, particularly in what appear to be higher trim levels.

Interior And Features Expectations
Although much of the cabin was concealed, minor interior upgrades are anticipated. These could include revised materials, new upholstery colour schemes, and subtle design changes. Feature additions are likely to include enhanced ambient lighting, improved dashboard textures, and an upgraded infotainment system. Reports suggest that the facelift may introduce Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), with functions such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking. A 360-degree camera system and updated digital instrument cluster are also expected.

Powertrain And Gearbox Update
There are no indications of changes to the engine options. The Kushaq will continue with the 1.0-litre TSI (114 HP, 178 NM) and 1.5-litre TSI EVO (148 HP, 250 NM) petrol engines. Transmission options will include the current 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG. However, the 6-speed torque converter automatic paired with the 1.0-litre engine might be replaced with an 8-speed automatic sourced from Aisin, which could offer better fuel efficiency and help meet upcoming CAFE III emission standards.

Launch Timeline
The facelifted Skoda Kushaq is expected to launch in India by late 2025 or early 2026. It enters a highly competitive segment currently dominated by models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Honda Elevate. The mid-cycle update aims to keep the Kushaq in line with evolving market expectations, especially around safety and technology. A slight increase in pricing is likely, particularly for variants with ADAS and new interior features.
