The Skoda Kushaq has achieved a major milestone in India by crossing 1 lakh cumulative sales. The midsize SUV reached the landmark at the end of May 2026, almost five years after its launch on June 28, 2021. The Kushaq has recorded total sales of 1,00,838 units in India. In addition, Skoda has exported 4,632 units since launch. The SUV enjoyed its best year in FY2023 with 25,300 units sold. However, demand declined afterward. Even so, dealership dispatches improved sharply after the latest update. Between March and May 2026, Skoda dispatched 5,468 units, up 135 percent over the same period last year.

Sales Trend Over The Years

The Kushaq started strongly with 21,427 units in FY2022. Sales then climbed to 25,300 units in FY2023. Later, deliveries fell to 23,396 units in FY2024 and 17,363 units in FY2025. FY2026 saw another decline to 10,191 units. Still, the SUV has shown positive momentum recently, with 3,161 units dispatched during April and May 2026.

Engine Options & Performance

Skoda offers the Kushaq with two turbo-petrol engines. The 1.0-LITRE TSI engine delivers 115 HP and 178 NM. Buyers can choose a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed torque-converter automatic. Meanwhile, the larger 1.5-LITRE TSI produces 150 HP and 250 NM. This engine comes exclusively with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox for stronger performance.

Features & Driving Experience

The Kushaq continues to offer a premium driving experience. It features disc brakes on all four wheels and delivers fuel efficiency between 18.72 KM/L and 19.66 KM/L. Furthermore, buyers get power windows, Bluetooth connectivity, a cooled glovebox, and several comfort features. The latest update also introduced an improved automatic transmission for the 1.0 TSI variant.

Competition In India

The Skoda Kushaq competes with several popular midsize SUVs in India. Key rivals include the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor, and Citroen Basalt. Although competitors have posted stronger sales, the Kushaq continues to attract buyers seeking European build quality, refined driving dynamics, and turbo-petrol performance.

Prices In India

The Skoda Kushaq is currently priced between ₹10.69 lakh and ₹18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers can choose from multiple trims and powertrain combinations. The SUV offers strong value with premium features, advanced safety equipment, and efficient turbo-petrol engines. Attractive discounts and exchange offers also make the Kushaq a compelling choice in its segment.
