Renault Unveils Ambitious Plans For Indian Market

1 min read

Renault India needs to take action soon to arrest falling sales, with more facelifts and new launches in the queue. In recent times, the French automaker shared that they are aiming to introduce five new models over the timeline of the next three years. It is predictable that one of these five products is going to be the return of the Renault Duster, with the same charm.

Return Of The Renault Duster?

Once renowned as the perfect compact SUV, offering the AWD variant with an ample amount of ground clearance, along with a rugged and simple design. It may or may not make a comeback with the same name, but as Renault India discussed, there will be a product with the same capabilities and character in the newly introduced Renault lineup. The new Duster is anticipated to come with a whole lot of powertrain options, including a hybrid powertrain as well. Renault officials also believe that the ICE cars will still stay for some time, so it is expected to come along with the turbo petrol engine option too.

Facelifted Kiger & Triber

Renault India stated that there will be significant updates to their existing models as well in the form of facelifts. The Renault Kiger and Triber, the compact SUV and MPV, respectively, are likely to get the updates later this year. There can be changes to the exteriors for the external design changes, and a few changes to the interiors, like changes in the materials, for a better feel. Also, not to forget, the new lineup will come with the new updated Renault logo.

Renault’s EV Plans

Renault India also has plans to launch EVs into the Indian market. We expect them to engineer the Kwid as an entry-level EV, which will be Renault’s first locally manufactured EV.
