Renault Kiger Facelift Teased

1 min read

Renault India has released fresh teasers for the Kiger facelift, with the tagline “Rethought, Redesigned, Recreated.” confirming a reveal on August 24. The clips spotlight the new 2D Renault logo and glimpses of revised lighting, while keeping the full design under wraps. A green paint option & tweaked C-shaped LED tail lamps have been hinted at, but the overall silhouette appears unchanged from the outgoing car. Expect it to be very similar to its Nissan counterpart, the Magnite, which received its facelift a few months earlier.

Design Tweaks

Spy photography points to a new bumper with a larger central intake, minor DRL/headlamp reprofiling, a refreshed grille with the new logo, and the return of actual fog lamps on higher trims. The cosmetic changes are largely plastic-panel deep, with no sheet-metal rework. A sunroof remains unlikely for this update.

Engines & Gearboxes

The Kiger is expected to retain its 1.0-Litre NA petrol (71 BHP) & 1.0-Litre turbo-petrol (99 BHP). Gearbox pairings will remain the same, with an MT or AMT for the NA, MT or CVT for the Turbo. A dealer-level CNG kit is also expected to continue. In short, don’t expect mechanical changes.

Interior, Features & Safety

Inside, anticipate mild dashboard tweaks, new upholstery & a tidied interface rather than a ground-up redo. Teasers hint at a new grille & brand ID outside, while reports suggest incremental feature additions inside. Six airbags will most likely come as standard.

Pricing

The current Kiger ranges between Rs 6.15 Lakh & Rs 11.23 Lakh (ex-showroom). The facelift is expected to carry a small premium, with early estimates hovering around Rs 6.20–11.50 Lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to face the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Nissan Magnite & Hyundai Exter in an intensely fought space.

Conclusion

On first reading, this update looks conservative with just a sharper face and no new drivetrains. That approach is fine if pricing remains disciplined, but the Kiger will need clear gains in perceived quality, safety coverage & infotainment polish to avoid being drowned out by fresher, more feature-rich rivals.
