JLR has opened bookings for the Range Rover Sport Electric in India. The electric SUV uses a 118.5 KWH battery and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. It produces up to 550 HP and 850 NM, while its claimed WLTP range stands at 609 KM. The Range Rover Sport Electric is the first fully electric model in the Sport family. JLR expects to launch it in India by March 2027 as a fully imported model.
Dual-Motor Setup Produces 550 HP
The Range Rover Sport Electric uses JLR’s 800-volt MLA-Flex architecture, which also underpins the Range Rover Electric. Its 118.5 KWH battery comes with an 8-year or 1.6 lakh KM warranty, whichever comes first. Meanwhile, the dual-motor setup produces up to 550 HP and 850 NM. JLR claims the SUV can accelerate from 0–100 KM/H in 4.5 seconds. This matches the claimed acceleration time of the P540 V8-powered Range Rover Sport.
Fast Charging & Revised Chassis

The SUV supports DC fast charging at up to 350 KW. As a result, JLR claims a 10–80 percent charge can take just 22 minutes. A 10-minute charging session can also add up to 220 KM of claimed range. The Sport Electric features a body structure that is 61 percent stiffer than the ICE model, while its centre of gravity sits 73mm lower. Its suspension combines double wishbones at the front, a five-link rear setup, air suspension, twin-valve dampers, active roll control and all-wheel steering.
Familiar Range Rover Sport Design
The Range Rover Sport Electric closely follows the design of its combustion-powered counterpart. At the front, it gets slim LED headlights and an aero-optimised black grille with horizontal elements. The SUV also features functional bumper air inlets and Range Rover lettering on the bonnet. Meanwhile, the side profile gets up to 22-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts, flush-fitting door handles and blacked-out pillars. At the rear, wraparound LED tail-lights sit above a gloss-black panel with Range Rover lettering.
Technology-Focused Interior

The cabin also retains the basic design of the ICE model. It features a three-spoke steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, a 13.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 13.7-inch digital driver’s display. Both screens receive EV-specific menus. In addition, the SUV gets a wireless phone charger, 4-zone climate control, rear sunblinds and powered, heated and ventilated seats for the front and rear passengers. The Range Rover Sport Electric continues with a five-seat layout.
Variants & Personalisation
JLR will offer the Range Rover Sport Electric in Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography and First Edition variants. Customers can also choose a Black Pack or Satin Wrap for a different exterior finish. The First Edition gets Zadar Grey paint, a Satin Wrap, black contrast roof and 22-inch alloy wheels. Meanwhile, Autobiography buyers can use Range Rover Bespoke for further personalisation.
India Launch & Expected Price
The Range Rover Sport Electric is expected to arrive in India by March 2027 as a fully imported model. JLR expects it to cost around Rs 2.5 crore, ex-showroom. As an imported EV, it will not qualify for tariff concessions under the India-UK Free Trade Agreement. The electric SUV will therefore sit at a significant premium over the ICE-powered Range Rover Sport, which currently costs Rs 1.43 crore to Rs 1.60 crore, ex-showroom.
Verdict

The Range Rover Sport Electric combines the familiar Sport design with a 550 HP dual-motor powertrain and a claimed 609 KM WLTP range. Its 350 KW charging capability also supports relatively quick charging. At the same time, JLR has retained the model’s established suspension and cabin layout while adapting them for electric power. Final Indian specifications, variant-wise equipment and pricing will become clearer closer to its expected March 2027 launch.
