Porsche launched the latest generation of the Panamera recently in India. The standard Panamera comes as a single variant in India. You can select between the standard, turbo, hybrid and GTS versions in the UK, while you get a smaller range in India.
What’s Different With The GTS?
The Panamera GTS comes with a 4.0L V8 which churns out more than 490 horsepower via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. This is an increase of 20 horsepower over the outgoing GTS. A 3.8 second 0-100 kmph time is a result of these power figures while topping out at 302 kmph.
The standard variant gets an identical feature list to the GTS, and the major difference is the engine that powers it. Being a 4-seater Porsche, it is expected to have ample of space at the rear. Elements like Alcantara-lined steering wheel and leather seats lead to a plush interior. It fulfils these expectations and also comes with plenty of equipment, like a 360-parking camera and ADAS. To improve manoeuvrability in urban areas, you can opt for rear-axle steering as well.
To differentiate a GTS from the standard version, Porsche has given it a sportier look. Blacked-out window surrounds, 21-inch alloys, aggressive side skirts, quad-exhausts and a big diffuser are responsible for the sportier aesthetics. To improve the look of the cabin, you can select the carbon package which fills the interior with carbon-fibre elements.
How Much Will The GTS Cost?
The standard variant costs almost 1.7 crore rupees. You would pay more than 70 lakh rupees extra for the improved performance and a sporty exterior. One can expect the on-road price to cross the 2.5 crore rupee mark.
To get your hands on a GTS, you would have to wait until late 2024 or the early months of 2025. At this price point, you could also opt for the Porsche Taycan if you don’t love the sound of a V8. The Panamera is a great combination of performance and practicality, but for such a hefty price tag it will have a very small market.
