Porsche has introduced the Cayenne Electric in India at a starting price of ₹1.76 crore, marking the arrival of the most powerful production model the brand has built to date. The electric version of the Cayenne expands the company’s EV portfolio alongside the Taycan and Macan. The headline figure is the combined output of 1156 HP in the Turbo Electric variant, which is priced at ₹2.26 crore. This number places it ahead of every other Porsche model sold so far. This launch also highlights the shift towards high performance electric SUVs in the luxury segment, where acceleration and efficiency have begun to matter as much as traditional engine displacement. Bookings for the model have already begun, with deliveries set to begin in second half of 2026.

Battery, Charging & Performance Numbers

Both variants of the Cayenne Electric get a 113kWh battery pack, which plays a key role in supporting the SUV’s high output figures. Porsche claims a range of 642 KM on the standard variant, while the Turbo variant is rated at 623 KM. This positions it comfortably among long range electric SUVs available today. The system supports 800-volt architecture, allowing fast charging at up to 390kW, with upto 400kW under ideal conditions. This can take the battery from 10-80% in under 16 minutes, providing a driving range of 300 KM in around 10 minutes. Additionally, Porsche is offering a 11kW wireless charger as an option, the first for any Porsche model. The user needs to park the car above a floor plate, and the charging starts automatically.

The powertrain consists of dual motors (AWD) as standard, that work together to deliver 1,156 HP & 1,150NM on the Turbo variant, making it go from 0 to 100 KM/H in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 260 KM/H. Meanwhile, the standard Cayenne Electric produces 408 HP and 835 NM. This makes it go from 0 to 100 KM/H in 4.8 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 230 KM/H. Porsche equips both Cayenne Electric models with standard adaptive air suspension, while optional rear-axle steering adds up to 5 degrees of rear-wheel angle to sharpen handling.

Exterior Design With A Focus On Aerodynamics

The Cayenne Electric continues the styling language seen on the current petrol models but introduces several EV specific updates. The front bumper features two air vents on either side to improve air intake, along with a closed grille. The rear gets a new LED light bar, updated bumper design and subtle tweaks that give the electric version a distinct identity. It is 55 MM longer than the ICE Cayenne, with a 130 MM larger wheelbase. It offers a 90-litre frunk and a 781-litre boot, expandable to 1,588 litres by folding the rear seats. The overall silhouette remains similar to the standard Cayenne, which means the model maintains its road presence. Both variants get 20-22 inch alloy wheel options, along with active aerodynamic vents on the lower portion of the bumpers.

Interior Layout & Features

Inside the cabin, the Cayenne Electric carries over the tech-heavy cabin of its ICE sibling, with a familiar 3-spoke steering wheel and digital driver’s display. The highlight is a new 14.5-inch curved touchscreen that blends into the centre console. This is a first for any Porsche model in India. There is also an optional 14.9-inch passenger display and an AR-enabled head-up display. Features include 8-way powered front seats (upgradeable to 18-way), 4-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and wireless charging. A 14-speaker Bose system comes standard, with a 20-speaker Harman Kardon setup available as an upgrade. Cabin space is better when compared to the ICE version due to the increased wheelbase of the model.

Positioning, Competition & Market Outlook

With a starting price of ₹1.76 crore, the Cayenne Electric sits in the upper end of the luxury electric SUV market. Its main rivals include the BMW iX, Lotus Eletre and Audi Q8 e tron, although none of them currently match its power output figures. This could attract buyers who want extreme performance combined with practicality. The long range and fast charging ability also strengthen its appeal for long distance usage. As the brand gradually expands its electric offerings, the Cayenne Electric signals Porsche’s intent to shift its flagship performance models toward full electrification.
