Porsche has launched the new 911 Turbo S in India, priced at ₹3.80 crore (ex-showroom). The latest iteration of the flagship 911 brings a few updates, with the most significant being the introduction of hybrid technology. It is part of Porsche’s mid-life update for the 992-generation 911.

The Turbo S sits at the top of the 911 range, combining the brand’s long-standing engineering expertise with modern electrified performance for the first time. Despite incorporating hybrid assistance, Porsche has managed to keep the car’s weight under control, ensuring it retains the dynamic balance expected from the model.

Electrified Powertrain With Record Output
The 2025 911 Turbo S is powered by a 3.6-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. This setup delivers a combined output of 711 HP and 800 NM of torque, making it the most powerful 911 ever produced. The hybrid system features a compact 1.9 kWh battery that powers the electric motor, primarily designed to boost performance rather than focus on electric-only driving. The result? Porsche claims the car can sprint to 100 KM/H in 2.5 seconds and 200 KM/H in 8.4 seconds. It has a top speed of 322 KM/H, matching some of the fastest production cars in the world. The new 911 Turbo S Coupe holds a lap time of 7:03.92 minutes on the Nurburgring. It is 14 seconds quicker than the previous model. The electric turbocharger helps eliminate lag, providing near-instant throttle response across the rev range.

Exterior Design Updates
While the silhouette remains unmistakably 911, the updated Turbo S gets subtle exterior revisions to improve aerodynamics and cooling. Up front, an active diffuser with integrated air curtains improves aerodynamics, while larger air intakes ahead of the rear wheel arches feed the twin-turbo engine. It gets new centre-lock alloy wheels, 20 inches at the front and 21 at the rear. The car now wears 10 MM wider tyres than the previous model, with massive 325-section rubber at the back to handle its immense power.

It is equipped with 420 MM front and 410 MM rear carbon ceramic disc brakes, the largest ever for a 2-door Porsche model. Much of the exterior detailing has been finished in Porsche’s exclusive ‘Turbonite’ shade, replacing traditional chrome with a distinctive bronze-grey accent. Complementing it is the sports exhaust system which is 6.8 KG lighter, with a titanium muffler and tips. It even features the latest version of Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC). As a result, the Turbo S projects a commanding presence that matches its performance pedigree.

Interior Enhancements
Inside, the cabin sees several technological upgrades. It gets a fully digital 12.6-inch driver’s display and a 10.9-inch central touchscreen running the latest Porsche Communication Management system. Turbonite detailing extends across the cabin, such as the door liners, steering wheel, dashboard, centre console, instrument cluster, seat belts, and even the stopwatch, creating an exclusive aesthetic. The 18-way electrically adjustable sports seats with memory functions provide good comfort and support. The infotainment touchscreen offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. For those seeking even greater personalization, Porsche offers a wide range of optional extras to tailor the cabin to individual tastes. The layout now feels cleaner and more driver-oriented, with a redesigned steering wheel and improved ergonomics.

Performance
Despite its extreme performance, Porsche continues to position the 911 Turbo S as an everyday supercar. Features like adaptive suspension, rear-axle steering, and active all-wheel drive make it versatile on both highways and racetracks. The hybrid assistance also improves efficiency during low-load driving, offering smoother power delivery in city traffic. While enthusiasts might initially view electrification as a departure from Porsche’s traditional formula, the new setup demonstrates how hybrid technology can enhance performance without compromising the car’s essence.
