Nissan India has released a teaser for the upcoming Magnite Kuro Edition. The teaser showed blacked-out elements across the grille, wheels, and badging, indicating that the Kuro Edition will offer a darker theme compared to the standard car. No mechanical or structural changes will be coming. No changes to the engine, suspension, or feature set are expected, making this purely cosmetic.

Expected Changes & Features

The Magnite Kuro Edition will retain the current platform and drivetrain options. That includes the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 71 BHP and the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol delivering 99 BHP. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, AMT, and CVT on offer. The car gets a 5-Star GNCAP crash test rating and shares its platform with the Renault Kiger.

Updates such as an all-black interior and Kuro badging will be introduced to differentiate the variant. The Kuro Edition is likely to be positioned among the mid-to-top variants of the Magnite lineup, based on the XV or XV Premium variants.

Conclusion

Special editions with blacked-out styling have become a recurring strategy across manufacturers to maintain product visibility without introducing new models or major facelifts. The Kuro Edition is following this trend, offering minor aesthetic differentiation while retaining the same mechanical package. While such editions typically generate short-term interest, they do not address core product updates or platform enhancements. As competitors in the segment continue to evolve with feature updates and alternative fuel options, the Magnite’s current formula remains largely unchanged since launch.

Nissan is expected to announce pricing and variant details in the coming weeks, potentially aligning with the festive season. Prices will see a marginal increase over the corresponding standard variants, which currently range from Rs 6 Lakh to Rs 11.02 Lakh (ex-showroom).
