Nissan Announces Up To 3% Price Hike From Jan 2026 In India

1 min read

Nissan has announced a price increase of up to 3 percent across its India range, effective from January 1, 2026. At present, the Nissan Magnite is the brand’s only offering in the country, which means the hike will directly impact this model. While the company has not officially stated the reason, such revisions are usually linked to rising input costs, supply chain pressures, and currency-related factors. The announcement follows a similar pattern seen across the industry, with several manufacturers planning price adjustments at the start of the new calendar year.

How Much More Buyers May Pay For The Magnite

Based on current prices, the Magnite could see an increase ranging from about ₹17,000 to ₹32,000 (up to 3 percent), depending on the variant. The compact SUV currently costs between ₹5.62 lakh and ₹10.76 lakh ex-showroom after a significant price cut earlier in 2025 following changes in the GST structure. Once the revision takes effect, ex-showroom prices will likely range between ₹5.79 lakh and ₹11.08 lakh. In percentage terms, the hike remains modest, but in absolute value it narrows some of the gap created by the earlier tax-related reduction, especially on higher trims.

Product Roadmap & Wider Industry Context

Alongside the price hike, Nissan has outlined its plans to expand its India portfolio over the next two years. The company aims to introduce three new models by 2027, starting with the Gravite compact MPV by March 2026. It will then showcase the new midsize SUV, Tekton, later in 2026, followed by a three-row SUV based on the same platform in 2027. Nissan’s decision to revise prices also aligns with a broader industry trend, as brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BYD, and MG have announced similar increases. For buyers, this places added importance on timing, especially for those considering purchases before the January 2026 revision comes into effect.
