Next-gen Kia Seltos Spotted With A Bold New Headlamp Design

Early in 2026, the second-generation Kia Seltos is anticipated to arrive in India.

For a while now, Kia has been testing the next-generation Seltos SUV in its native South Korea, and we have already covered the spy photos that were taken in India. Recently, a particularly eye-catching headlight design was discovered after another encounter in Korea. A new petrol-hybrid powertrain for the next generation Seltos is also being discussed, but we’ll have to wait and see whether it reaches our market.

What’s New About The Spotted Next-Generation Kia Seltos?

This test mule is heavily camouflaged, much like the ones seen in the earlier encounters. Nevertheless, the LED lighting pattern in the headlights and taillamps is clearly visible. Specifically, the headlights are unlike any of Kia’s current SUVs. Three vertical slats in the grille region of the test mule’s H-pattern DRL were lighted. Additionally, a prior sighting suggested a new concave grille shape with several vertical strakes. Like the EV5, the next-generation Seltos has a new LED lighting strip at the back that connects the two tail lamps.

It’s possible that the future generation of Seltos will stick with the same platform as the current model. Thus, the general measurements will be comparable. These early sightings, however, point to a major redesign, which is also anticipated for the inside.

Next-Gen Kia Seltos: Powertrain Options

The 1.5-liter gasoline (both turbo and normally aspirated) and 1.5-liter diesel engine choices will probably remain available in the next generation Kia Seltos. Additionally, there are rumors that Kia will launch a new 1.6-liter petrol-hybrid engine in foreign markets, which will essentially provide the Seltos all-wheel drive thanks to an electric motor on the back axle. We’ll find out in due time if it applies to India or not, although Kia India has already indicated that it is thinking on hybrids for the country. Therefore, it is impossible to rule out the possibility.

The brand-new Seltos may have their world premiere in the second quarter of 2025, as we previously reported. It is anticipated that India would launch early in the upcoming year.
