Maruti Suzuki introduced the 4th-generation model of its popular Swift hatchback in the country this year. With the new-gen Swift now available, the carmaker’s next major release for India is the all-new Dzire compact sedan, with prices to be announced on November 11. Recently, the new Dzire models have started arriving at showrooms, with both the interior and exterior being spotted ahead of the official launch.
Exterior updates on the new 2024 Maruti Dzire include a large front grille with horizontal slats and an updated lighting setup.
The side shows blacked-out B-pillars, refreshed body panelling, chrome window accents, refreshed alloy wheels, and body-colored door handles.
The rear has LED tail lamps connected by a piano black strip. Borrowing some design elements from the Swift, the new Dzire brings a more polished look.
The interior of the new Dzire also features enhanced comforts for both driver and passengers, with some updates borrowed from the 2024 Swift hatchback. These include a refreshed dual-color dashboard, a large 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a driver display unit, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire will come equipped with features like electrically adjustable ORVMs, a wireless charging system, push-button start/stop, and a smart key. It will also include rear AC vents, as well as both Type A and Type C USB ports for added convenience. Notably, the new Dzire will feature a single-pane sunroof — making it the first subcompact sedan in its segment to offer this option, which will be available only on higher trims.
The Dzire will incorporate safety features from the new Swift, including six airbags across all variants, ABS, EBD, ESP, and ISOFIX child seat mounts. It will also feature an electronic stability program, hill hold assist, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera. Additionally, a 360-degree surround-view camera is anticipated, making it a segment-first in the subcompact sedan market.
The new Dzire will be powered by the same 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z Series petrol engine as the Swift. It will also offer a petrol-CNG variant. The petrol models will have an option for an AMT, while the CNG variants will be available only with a five-speed manual transmission.
Currently, the Dzire is priced from ₹6.57 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model is expected to start at ₹6.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and may be offered in five variants: LXI, VXI, VXI(O), ZXI, and ZXI+. The new Dzire will compete with models like the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze, and Tata Tigor.
With the car being unveiled on November 11, Maruti is expected to begin bookings for the new Dzire in the coming weeks, with deliveries anticipated to start around mid-November.
