Family purchasers are at the heart of the impending significant change in the Indian EV (electric vehicle) industry. In the next two to three months, automakers including Tata, Mahindra, Kia, and MG are preparing to introduce electric SUVs and MPVs. A deeper look at the salient features of the next generation of electric family vehicles is provided here.
MG Windsor Electric – Long Range Version

At the moment, the MG Windsor EV is leading the nation’s EV market. To increase sales, the automaker is prepared to launch a long-range model with a 50.6 kWh battery pack. The electric MPV will have a 460-kilometre range, thanks to the bigger battery pack. A maximum of 136 BHP and 200 Nm of torque will be provided with this configuration.
MG M9

The MG M9 is the next electric family vehicle on the list. Together, the 90 kWh battery pack and electric motor in this opulent electric MPV will provide 241 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. According to WLTP, it can go 430 km between charges. Nationwide, reservations for the M9 have already begun. It will only be offered for sale via the network of MG Select premium dealerships. Mystic Grey, Cardiff Black, and Luminous White are the three colour options available for the EV.
Kia Carens EV

In June 2025, the Kia Carens EV is anticipated to arrive in stores. It is anticipated to use a 42 kWh battery pack and a 135 BHP electric motor shared with the Hyundai Creta Electric, however, official powertrain specifications are not yet available. An ARAI-certified range of 390 km is expected. A 360-degree camera and the Level 2 ADAS suite are probably included with the Carens EV. A few exterior and interior EV-specific improvements are anticipated.
Tata Harrier EV

The next several months will see the Tata Harrier EV go on the market. It is anticipated to include a dual-motor AWD system and be based on Tata’s Gen 2 EV architecture (Acti.ev), just like the Punch EV. Fast charging will be supported, and the electric SUV may have a range of more than 500 km. Aerodynamic alloy wheels and a closed-off grille will be featured up front. Features including a panoramic sunroof, ADAS technology, and a connected car suite are probably going to be included in the SUV.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV

For some time now, Mahindra & Mahindra has been testing the XUV 3XO EV. The XUV400 may be replaced with an electric small SUV, which would have a redesigned interior, better looks, and a greater range. It may have a range of about 450 km. The exterior of the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will include new alloy wheels, C-shaped taillamps, and a redesigned front grille with a wider central air intake and badging.
