Mini India has started pre-bookings for the new Cooper S GP Inspired Edition. The limited-run hatchback is based on the Cooper S JCW Pack. However, Mini will offer only 30 units in India. Interested buyers can reserve the car by paying Rs. 1.5 lakh. Deliveries will begin later in May 2026.
Exclusive Exterior Styling
Mini finishes the GP Inspired Edition in a new Legend Grey exterior shade. Meanwhile, the roof and ORVMs feature a contrasting Chilli Red finish.
Additionally, the hatchback carries GP-inspired decals along the sides. The C-pillar also displays the vehicle’s serial number. As a result, each unit gets a more exclusive identity.
JCW Design Elements

The hatchback borrows several styling components from the JCW Pack. Up front, buyers get JCW-spec LED headlamps, a redesigned grille, and a sportier bumper.
Additionally, Mini adds JCW winglets, a red fabric tow hook, and dual-tone bonnet stripes. The 17-inch alloy wheels also receive red center caps instead of the standard black finish.
Interior & Cabin Layout

Inside, the Cooper S GP Inspired Edition features sporty red and black upholstery. Moreover, the front seats receive red stripes on the headrests for added contrast.
Mini also adds JCW-branded door locks, a JCW steering wheel, and GP Inspired badging. Furthermore, the cabin includes a dedicated serial-number emblem to highlight the hatchback’s limited production run.
Engine & Performance
The GP Inspired Edition uses the same 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine available in the standard Cooper S lineup. The engine produces 204 BHP and 300 NM of torque.
Mini pairs the engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Additionally, the hatchback delivers a claimed 0-100 KM/H time of 6.6 seconds.
Prices In India
Mini India has not announced official pricing for the Cooper S GP Inspired Edition yet. However, the special edition will likely cost more than the standard Cooper S JCW Pack.
Currently, the Mini Cooper S JCW Pack carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 55 lakh in India.
Limited Production Details
Mini will restrict production of the GP Inspired Edition to only 30 units for the Indian market. Therefore, the hatchback targets collectors and enthusiasts looking for a more exclusive version of the Cooper S.
The serial-number badging and unique cosmetic updates further strengthen its limited-edition positioning.
Market Position & Rivals
The Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition continues to target buyers in the premium compact performance hatchback segment. Additionally, the model appeals to customers seeking sporty styling and limited-run exclusivity. In India, the hatchback competes with niche luxury performance offerings from several European brands.
Conclusion

The Mini Cooper S GP Inspired Edition introduces exclusive styling updates and limited production numbers to the Cooper S range. Moreover, the hatchback retains the same turbo-petrol performance setup as the standard model. With only 30 units planned for India, the GP Inspired Edition focuses strongly on exclusivity and collector appeal.
