Mini has introduced the Countryman John Cooper Works (JCW) All4 in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹64.90 lakh. This marks the performance-oriented variant’s arrival in India for the first time, offering a significant power boost and a host of mechanical upgrades compared to the standard Countryman. The JCW All4 variant is imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and represents the most powerful Mini model currently on sale in India. It stands out from the regular Countryman with several sporty visual enhancements inspired by Mini’s motorsport heritage.

Powertrain & Performance

Under the hood, the Countryman JCW packs a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 300HP and 400NM of peak torque. It comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and Mini’s All4 all-wheel-drive system, which distributes power across all four wheels for improved traction and stability. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 KM/H in 5.4 seconds, making it the quickest Mini available in India. It has a top speed of 250 KM/H with a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.4 KM/L. Adaptive suspension is also a part of the new Mini.

Distinctive Styling & Interior Upgrades

The exterior gets JCW-specific bumpers, 19-inch alloy wheels, and red brake calipers, along with a new grille design. Mini also offers a roof spoiler and a quad exhaust setup at the rear. It gets three exterior colour options, namely British Racing Green, Legend Grey and Midnight Black. The roof and ORVMs can be had in either red or black finish. Inside, the cabin retains Mini’s signature design language. It features an all-black theme with red contrast stitching and ambient lighting. The dashboard houses a 9.4-inch circular OLED infotainment display with JCW specific graphics, which runs Mini’s latest software. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with built-in navigation and voice commands. A Harman Kardon surround sound system, heads-up display, powered tailgate, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, auto-park assist, and electrically adjustable seats add to the car’s premium appeal.

Equipment & Safety Credentials

Beyond its performance credentials, the Countryman JCW All4 comes equipped with a wide range of technology and safety features. It includes six airbags, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), and tyre pressure monitoring as standard. The adaptive chassis control adjusts damping based on driving conditions, balancing comfort and handling precision. The vehicle’s All4 AWD system continuously monitors grip levels and can distribute torque between the front and rear axles in real time. The JCW All4’s higher ground clearance (149 MM) compared to typical hot hatches also makes it practical for Indian road conditions. Despite its performance-oriented setup, Mini claims it remains efficient enough for daily driving.

Positioning In The Indian Market

With the Countryman JCW All4, Mini aims to attract buyers who value performance and exclusivity within a compact SUV footprint. Priced at ₹64.90 lakh, it competes indirectly with models such as the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, and the Audi Q3 Sportback. While those rivals offer similar power figures, the Mini distinguishes itself through its heritage-inspired styling and go-kart-like handling dynamics. The launch of the JCW All4 also expands Mini India’s lineup. It follows the brand’s strategy of catering to enthusiasts looking for individuality in a premium package. Deliveries for the new model are expected to begin later this month across Mini dealerships, with bookings already open on September 22 nationwide.
