JSW MG Motor India has introduced a new limited-edition variant of its electric crossover, the MG Windsor EV Inspire Edition, priced at ₹16.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Only 300 units of this special edition will be available across the country, and its bookings are open on MG India’s website. Based on the top-spec Essence variant, it brings a few design and feature updates that enhance the vehicle’s appeal while keeping its practicality intact. The Inspire Edition targets urban EV buyers looking for a premium electric experience in a compact package. Additionally, MG is offering the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription option, which reduces the initial price to ₹9.99 lakh, making it more accessible to a wider audience.

Exterior Enhancements & Design Updates

Visually, the Inspire Edition carries over the styling of the standard Windsor but adds subtle updates to distinguish it from other trims. It features a dual-tone Pearl White and Starry Black finish, with rose gold accents on the front, bumpers, and doors. The limited-run model also gets ‘Inspire’ badging on the D pillars and an accessory pack. Design updates also include black alloy wheels and ORVMs. The dual-tone paint finish enhances its sporty look, while new blacked-out elements give it a sharper profile. The model’s compact proportions remain unchanged, ensuring it retains its easy-to-drive character in city conditions.

Interior Features & Equipment List

Inside, the Inspire Edition features Sangria Red seats with ‘Inspire’ embroidery and an all-black interior with gold accents. It also includes new infotainment features like the ‘Watch Wellness’ app and ‘Book My Service’ for easy service scheduling. The car comes with themed 3D mats, rear sunshades, cushions, a 4K dashcam, and a leather key cover. Optional accessories include illuminated sill plates and an animated panoramic glass roof. Like the regular variants, it offers a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with connected car functionalities and over-the-air software updates. MG has also retained the digital driver display and comprehensive safety suite that includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, TPMS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, 360 degree camera, hill start, and hill descent control.

Performance & Range

The Inspire Edition is available only with the 38 KWH battery pack which provides a claimed range of 332 KM. It features a single front-axle mounted electric motor that produces 136HP and 200NM of torque. MG is continuing to emphasize flexibility in ownership through its BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) program, where customers can purchase the car without the battery and subscribe to it separately, lowering upfront costs. Having already crossed 40,000 sales, MG seems to be celebrating this milestone by launching this limited edition of the Windsor. With the Inspire Edition, MG aims to keep the Windsor fresh in a competitive market that includes models like the Tata Nexon.ev, Mahindra XUV400, and Hyundai Creta Electric.
