The MG Majestor, which was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2025 for the very first time, has been spotted undisguised on the streets of Delhi, signalling a close launch. Positioned to sit above the Gloster in MG’s lineup, the Majestor is set to challenge segment leaders like the Toyota Fortuner.
Design

The Majestor boasts a commanding presence with its muscular design. It measures 5046mm in length, 2016mm in width (excluding ORVMs), and 1876mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2950mm. This makes it 61 mm longer, 90 mm wider, and 9 mm taller than the Gloster. Compared to the Toyota Fortuner, it’s 251mm longer, 161mm wider, and 41mm taller, with a 205mm longer wheelbase.

The front fascia features a split headlight setup with sleek LED DRLs on top and vertically positioned LED headlights below. A larger grille with tasteful orange highlights adds to its imposing look. The SUV rides on 20-inch wheels wrapped in 265-section tires.

At the rear, a connected LED tail light signature emphasises the vehicle’s width. A high departure angle showcases the fat tires and dual exhaust setup.
Interior and Features

Inside, the Majestor receives a slightly revised dashboard with a larger infotainment screen and square AC vents. The centre console has been updated to include three locking differentials (front, rear, and centre), a significant upgrade over the single rear differential found in the Gloster and Fortuner.
In terms of features, comfort, and equipment, the Majestor is expected to surpass the Gloster and significantly outpace the Fortuner.
Powertrain
The MG Majestor will likely share its powertrain with the Gloster, coming with a twin-turbo 2.0L diesel engine producing 215 BHP & 480 Nm of torque channelled to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The car is expected to come with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive as standard. It comes with a body-on-frame chassis rather than a monocoque chassis as offered by competitors such as the Jeep Meridien, Skoda Kodiaq and the VW Tiguan R-Line.
Conclusion
The MG Majestor offers a combination of power, features, off-road capabilities and comfort. It’s a proper SUV, with a tough body-on-frame chassis, and it can go off-road, with many features such as locking differentials and all-wheel drive. The car comes with significantly better interiors and comfort levels than the Toyota Fortuner, has better road presence and build quality. It could end up becoming the default option in the large SUV space.
