MG Motor India has officially started production of the new MG Majestor at its Halol manufacturing facility in Gujarat. Positioned as the brand’s new flagship ICE SUV, the Majestor will replace the Gloster in MG’s India portfolio. The SUV will be offered in Sharp and Savvy trims, while pre-bookings have already commenced for Rs 41,000. Prices are expected to range between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 45 lakh, ex-showroom.
The Majestor will rival premium full-size SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq in the Indian market.
MG Majestor Exterior Design

The MG Majestor adopts a bold and upright design language that gives it a strong road presence. At the front, the SUV features a large gloss-black grille flanked by vertically stacked LED headlamps and sleek eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs. The front bumper also gets rugged cladding along with a silver skid plate for a more muscular appearance.
From the side, the Majestor gets prominent wheel arch cladding, integrated side steps and large 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The SUV’s boxy silhouette further enhances its premium SUV stance. At the rear, the Majestor sports connected LED tail-lamps with Morris Garages lettering positioned across the tailgate. The rear bumper also features black cladding and dual exhaust outlets for a sportier finish.
MG Majestor Interior & Features
Inside, the MG Majestor gets a premium black-themed cabin with silver trim inserts across the dashboard. The SUV features a modern dual-screen setup with two 12.4-inch displays for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.
MG will offer the Majestor in both 6-seat and 7-seat layouts. The cabin comes equipped with leatherette upholstery, ventilated and massage-enabled front seats, a panoramic sunroof and 64-colour ambient lighting. Buyers will also get features such as a 12-speaker JBL Studio sound system, dual wireless phone chargers, a powered tailgate and 3-zone automatic climate control.
The front seats are electrically adjustable, with the driver’s seat getting a memory function linked to the ORVM settings. Rear passengers also benefit from a 220V power outlet for added convenience.
MG Majestor Engine & Performance
Powering the MG Majestor is a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine borrowed from the higher variants of the Gloster. The engine produces 215 HP and 478.5 NM of torque.
The diesel motor is paired with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox and a four-wheel-drive system with low-range capability. MG is also offering multiple terrain modes including Snow, Rock, Sand, Mud and Normal.
Additionally, the Majestor comes equipped with three locking differentials to improve off-road capability.
Safety & Technology
MG has loaded the Majestor with a comprehensive safety package. The SUV comes with 6 airbags as standard, along with Level 2 ADAS features, a 360-degree camera, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control, TPMS and an electronic parking brake.
Other safety-related features include an auto-dimming IRVM and advanced driver assistance systems aimed at improving both highway and city driving safety.
Expected Launch & Pricing
While MG has not officially confirmed the Majestor’s launch date yet, the SUV is expected to arrive in dealerships soon now that production has begun. Expected prices between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 45 lakh will position it directly against the segment’s established premium SUVs.
With a more premium design, feature-loaded cabin and powerful twin-turbo diesel engine, the MG Majestor aims to strengthen MG’s presence in India’s premium SUV segment.
Conclusion

The MG Majestor marks a major step forward for MG Motor India in the premium SUV space. With bold styling, a tech-loaded cabin, powerful diesel performance and serious off-road hardware, the Majestor appears ready to take on some of the biggest names in the segment. If priced competitively, it could emerge as a strong alternative to traditional full-size SUVs in India.
