JSW MG Motor India has launched the Hector Tomahawk PHEV in India at an introductory price of Rs 25.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The new SUV is available only with seven seats and uses a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
The Hector Tomahawk PHEV combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 20.5kWh battery and an electric motor. MG claims an electric-only range of over 115km and a combined range of more than 1,100km. It also claims fuel efficiency of over 40kpl.

The Hector Tomahawk PHEV is available in two seven-seat variants. Prices start at Rs 25.70 lakh and go up to Rs 27.80 lakh (ex-showroom). MG also offers the SUV through its Battery-as-a-Service programme, which lowers the initial purchase price but adds a battery rental charge.

These are introductory prices and apply to a limited number of bookings. Bookings are now open, while deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2026.
MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV Powertrain & Performance
The Hector Tomahawk PHEV uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with a 20.5kWh battery and a permanent magnet electric motor. The petrol engine produces 102 HP and 125 NM, while the electric motor develops 201 HP and 237 NM.
The combined system output stands at 198 HP and 230 NM. The powertrain uses a dedicated hybrid transmission with an e-clutch. MG also claims a thermal efficiency of 43.2 percent for the petrol engine.

The SUV supports both AC and DC charging. A 3.3kW AC charger takes around 7.5 hours to charge the battery from 10 to 100 percent. A 25kW DC charger can take the battery from 30 to 80 percent in around 35 minutes.

The Tomahawk PHEV gets a different front-end treatment compared with the all-electric version. It features a functional grille with chrome elements, rectangular headlamps and gloss-black detailing.
The side profile gets prominent black cladding around the wheel arches and lower doors. It also features 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, wraparound rectangular tail-lamps and a two-tone bumper complete the design.
MG offers six exterior colours: Starry Black, Aurora Silver, Shadow Gold, Pearl White, Turquoise Green and Celadon Blue. Turquoise Green and Celadon Blue can also be specified with a white roof.

The cabin follows a minimalist design with a large 15.6-inch touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display. A flat-bottomed two-spoke steering wheel and floating centre console add to the modern layout.
Features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, gesture controls, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and powered front seats and 256-colour ambient lighting. The SUV also gets a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, connected car technology and rear window sunshades.
