Affordable EV Still Holds Ground
Despite the jump in prices, the MG Comet EV continues to retain its position as the most affordable electric car in India. Even after the hike, the starting price of ₹7.50 Lakh remains below rivals like the Tata Tiago EV, which starts close to ₹7.99 Lakh. Buyers choosing the BaaS option can access the Executive variant for ₹4.99 Lakh all while subscribing to battery rental. Other trims under BaaS, such as Excite, Exclusive and Blackstorm Edition, are also affected with corresponding price increases, though still offering attractive entry‑point options around ₹6–7.6 Lakh depending on the trim.
