Like all the other brands looking to launch the dark edition of their cars, MG also launched the Blackstorm edition of its entry-level small EV, Comet. The Comet EV will be the first EV in MG’s EV lineup to get a Black Storm edition. While Astor and Hector also have Black Storm Editions, they both aren’t EVs. The Blackstorm Edition will be placed as the top-spec variant, but it will cost Rs 30,000 more than the older top-spec version of the Comet.

  • It will be priced at Rs 7.8 lakhs (excluding the cost of the battery pack).
  • The battery rental prices will start at Rs 2.5 per KM.
  • It will have black and red accents all over the car.
  • Mechanical specs will be the same as the normal Comet EV.

What Will Be The Changes In The BlackStorm Edition?

On the exterior, the colour will be black. The bonet will have MG written on it with red lettering. The bumper and wheel cover will now have red highlights.

The seats will have Blackstorm badging embroidered on them, along with red inserts around AC vents and the infotainment system.

Mechanically, it will be the same as the normal version of the Comet EV, which currently comes with a 17.4 KWH battery pack, which will power a 42 HP and 110 NM electric motor and will give a range of 230 KM (MIDC claimed).

Pricing

The normal variant struggles against the Tiago EV due to its small size and high pricing. Now, MG has launched this at the starting price of Rs 7.8 lakhs, which is kind of on the higher side as compared to the size and the range of this car.
