MG Announces Price Hike

1 min read

MG Motor India has confirmed that it will increase the prices of its vehicles by up to 1.5% starting July 2025. The increase will affect their entire product portfolio. The company has cited rising input costs and supply-side factors as reasons for the increment. Bookings made before the end of June will not be subject to the new pricing.

Price Hike Across Lineup

The 1.5% increase will be implemented across all MG models currently on sale. This includes the Comet EV, ZS EV, Astor, Hector, Hector Plus, and Gloster. This marks the second such price revision by MG in 2025. The first hike was rolled out in January. According to the company, rising commodity prices and logistics costs have contributed to the latest move. This is the same reason other companies have provided. The entry-level Comet EV, currently priced from Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom), will see a price increase of approximately Rs 10,000. More premium products such as the Gloster Savvy, which costs upwards of Rs 43 lakh, will likely experience a hike of over Rs. 60,000.

Price Hike Effective July

Customers who book their vehicles before 30 June will be eligible for the current pricing. Deliveries for orders made this month are expected to continue without revision, subject to variant and stock availability at dealerships. Dealers are also reportedly pushing June bookings to maximise volumes ahead of the hike.

Conclusion

The price hike of up to 1.5% across MG’s vehicle range will come into effect from the 1st of July 2025. Models booked in June will remain unaffected, offering a short window before prices reset across the board. MG follows other automobile companies also facing supply chain issues in hiking prices across the board. If you’re looking for an MG product, it might be better to speed up your plans before the prices increase.
