Mercedes-Benz has launched the all-new CLA BEV in India, marking the debut of its next-generation electric platform. The sedan is offered in three variants and represents a major step in the brand’s electrification roadmap. With over 400 pre-launch bookings, the CLA BEV has already received a strong market response. It combines range, charging capability, and software integration in a new package.

Platform & Battery Technology

The CLA BEV is based on the new MMA platform with an 800 V architecture. This setup supports faster charging and improved efficiency. The CLA 250+ offers a WLTP range of up to 792 KM, while the CLA 200 delivers up to 542 KM. In addition, both variants support high-speed DC charging, improving long-distance usability.

Charging Network & Infrastructure

Mercedes-Benz supports the CLA BEV with its MB.CHARGE Public network. This network includes over 9,000 charging points across India. The navigation system integrates charging stops for optimized travel routes. In addition, the CLA 250+ can add up to 400 KM of range in 20 minutes, while the CLA 200 adds 320 KM in the same duration.

Exterior Design & Aerodynamics

The CLA BEV follows a fastback design with a coupe-like silhouette. It features a shark-nose front and an illuminated panel with 142 star elements. The lighting setup includes connected LED headlamps and tail lamps. The aerodynamic design achieves a drag coefficient of 0.21. This improves efficiency and overall performance.

Interior Layout & Digital Technology

Inside, the CLA BEV introduces the MB.OS system. It runs the latest generation MBUX interface with AI integration. The system supports ChatGPT4, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini. In addition, the cabin includes a Superscreen layout with multiple displays. The interface adapts to user behavior and supports OTA updates.

Performance & Driving Experience

The CLA BEV offers multiple configurations. The CLA 250+ produces 200 KW and 335 NM of torque. It accelerates from 0-100 KM/H in 6.7 seconds. The CLA 200 produces 165 KW and delivers a 0-100 KM/H time of 7.5 seconds. A two-speed transmission improves acceleration and efficiency. Top speed is rated at 210 KM/H.
