The updated Mercedes-Maybach S-Class will launch in India on October 5, bringing visual changes, new technology, additional personalisation options and powertrain upgrades. The facelift made its global debut in March 2026 and will arrive in India just over six months later.
Exterior Design & Updates

The 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class gets several model-specific exterior changes alongside the updates introduced on the standard S-Class. The front grille is now 20 percent larger and features LED illumination, while an illuminated Mercedes star sits on the bonnet. Meanwhile, the grille retains Maybach’s signature vertical slats and adds an illuminated Maybach wordmark.
The facelift also gets larger headlights with three-pointed-star DRLs. The lower air dams feature a mesh pattern with small Maybach logos. Additionally, new forged alloy wheels are available in 20- and 21-inch sizes. The Maybach remains 180 MM longer than the long-wheelbase S-Class, while the D-pillar logo now gets illumination.
Interior & Features

Inside, the Maybach S-Class adopts the Superscreen layout from the updated S-Class. It includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch central touchscreen and a 12.3-inch passenger display. Mercedes-Maybach also uses a new E&E architecture with four supercomputers to manage various vehicle systems.
Furthermore, Mercedes-Maybach has expanded its personalisation options. Buyers can choose additional exterior colours and two-tone paint combinations through the Manufaktur range. The cabin also gets more upholstery choices, including extended leather coverage and new colours. For the first time, buyers can also specify leather-free vegan upholstery.
Rear Seat Comfort
The rear compartment continues to focus on chauffeur-driven comfort. The individual rear seats can recline up to 43 degrees, compared with 38 degrees in the standard S-Class. They also feature heating, ventilation and massage functions.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Maybach has replaced the earlier tablet-style controller with two smartphone-style remotes. These allow rear passengers to operate various functions within the cabin.
Powertrain Options
Internationally, the updated Maybach S-Class is available with petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The S 580 gets an upgraded 4.0-litre V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft, producing 537 HP and 750 NM. Some markets also receive the S 580e PHEV, which combines a 3.0-litre inline-six with a 163 HP electric motor and a 22 KWH battery.
The S 580e produces a combined 585 HP and 750 NM, with an electric-only range of up to 98 KM. However, Mercedes-Benz has not yet confirmed which powertrain options will be offered in India. Internationally, the S 680 is also available with either a V12 or a more powerful V8, depending on the market.
India Launch & Availability
Mercedes-Benz will launch the 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in India on October 5. The company has not yet confirmed the exact Indian-spec variants and powertrains. Therefore, specifications and equipment for the Indian market will become clearer closer to the launch.
Prices In India

The facelift is expected to command a higher price due to its additional technology, personalisation options and powertrain updates.
