Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 Celebration Edition Launched In India

53 sec read

Mercedes-Benz has launched the EQS 580 Celebration Edition to mark the milestone of 30,000 EVs sold globally. Limited to 50 units, this edition is made purely for exclusivity no additional tweaks.

What’s New?

There are no mechanical upgrades here. The Celebration Edition simply adds two new paint shades, Sodalite Blue and High-Tech Silver. You also get illuminated running boards and a special interior fragrance. This is a commemorative release with only a few design tweaks.

Performance

The performance figures remain untouched. The twin-motor setup produces 523 BHP and 855 Nm of torque, launching the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. Battery capacity also remains the same at 107.8 kWh, with a WLTP-rated range of 677 km. Real-world range will obviously be lower, but this still remains one of the highest official range figures in the segment. Charging maxes out at 200 kW via DC fast charging, as before.

Interior

Inside, the EQS’s dashboard is dominated by the MBUX Hyperscreen. It stretches across the dash, with three displays under a single glass panel. Visually stunning, but not always intuitive to use. There are no physical controls for the driver.

Rear-seat comfort is strong, with ample legroom, reclining seats, and ambient lighting. However, some India-specific luxuries are missing. At this price, we’d have expected powered sunblinds or rear massage seats.

Conclusion

At Rs.1.71 crore (ex-showroom), the Celebration Edition is Rs. 6 lakh more than the standard EQS 580. That premium is for cosmetic exclusivity, with no changes under the surface. Luxury buyers might prefer the added exclusivity, though.
