Maserati has officially launched the McPura supercar in India, marking a major step in the Italian brand’s renewed focus on the high-performance luxury segment. Available in two versions, the McPura Coupe and McPura Cielo, the new models are priced at ₹4.12 crore and ₹5.12 crore (ex-showroom) respectively. The McPura range represents Maserati’s latest generation of supercars, built entirely around performance innovation and aerodynamic precision. It was first unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and is said to be an evolution of the Maserati MC20 supercar. Maserati has launched the McPura in India just 3 months after its global debut. The design draws inspiration from the brand’s racing heritage, combining sleek proportions, flowing lines, and a distinctive Trident identity.

Powertrain & Performance Highlights
Powering the McPura is Maserati’s in-house developed Nettuno 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which delivers 630 HP and 720 NM of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 KM/H in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 325 KM/H. The McPura uses a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis, resulting in a lightweight yet rigid structure that enhances both performance and safety. The McPura coupe has a kerb weight of 1500 KG. The car’s tuned suspension setup and aerodynamic design further contribute to its stability at high speeds. The rear diffuser and active air intakes ensure optimal cooling and downforce distribution.

Interior & Technology
Inside, the MCPura retains a layout similar to the MC20. It maintains a balance between minimalist design and advanced technology. The cabin features carbon fibre and alcantara seats, digital driver display, and a customizable central infotainment screen with Maserati’s latest interface. The Coupe and Cielo versions share the same cockpit layout. Maserati offers the car in a striking colour range, with the standout being “AI Aqua Rainbow”. This shade shifts in sunlight to produce a rainbow-like effect. The coupe sports a matte finish, while the convertible version comes with a glossy exterior. Other highlights of this new Maserati supercar include butterfly wing doors, a carbon fibre monocoque chassis, and a retractable glass roof on the convertible model.

India Launch Significance
The McPura’s arrival in India signals Maserati’s growing confidence in the country’s expanding luxury car market. The model enters a niche segment dominated by high-performance brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren. With limited annual allocations, Maserati aims to appeal to a small but discerning audience that values exclusivity and Italian craftsmanship. The pricing strategy places the McPura between the Ferrari Roma and McLaren Artura. The latest Maserati offering presents itself as an alternative that blends old-school mechanicals with modern engineering. The Cielo variant, with its convertible roof and slightly softer touring setup, may attract customers seeking both performance and comfort.

The McPura is more than just a new supercar, it marks a pivotal point as the brand transitions towards electrified performance models in the coming years. While the McPura offers an internal combustion engine, its architecture is capable of accommodating hybrid and electric powertrains. The car also reinforces Maserati’s return to fully in-house development after years of platform sharing, showcasing the company’s capability to engineer vehicles from the ground up.
