Maserati has launched the Grecale Folgore in India at ₹1.89 crore (ex-showroom), marking the brand’s first all-electric SUV’s arrival to the country. The Grecale Folgore joins the recently introduced GranTurismo and GranCabrio Folgore models, expanding Maserati’s electric vehicle range under its “Folgore” lineup. Built on the same platform as the standard Grecale, the Folgore version swaps the internal combustion engine for a fully electric setup, combining high performance with everyday practicality. This launch positions Maserati among the few ultra-luxury manufacturers offering an electric SUV in India.

Performance & Range Figures

The Grecale Folgore is powered by a 105 kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors that produce a combined output of 550 HP and 820 NM of torque. The all-wheel-drive setup helps the SUV accelerate from 0 to 100 KM/H in 4.1 seconds, while the top speed is rated at 220 KM/H. Maserati claims a WLTP range of up to 501 KM on a full charge. The SUV supports 400-volt electrical architecture and can be charged using up to 150 kW DC fast charging. A full recharge from a 22kW standard AC wall box takes several hours, making fast chargers the ideal choice for long-distance travel. The system also features multiple driving modes such as GT, Sport, Off-Road, and Max Range, allowing drivers to balance efficiency and performance as needed.

Exterior Design Highlights

The Grecale Folgore retains the familiar shape of its petrol-powered counterpart but introduces unique EV-specific styling elements. It continues to feature the brand’s signature low-set concave grille and the iconic trident emblem on the D-pillar. To distinguish it from the ICE models, Maserati has given the Folgore subtly reworked bumpers, bronze-finished brake calipers, and fresh alloy wheel designs. The car also features Maserati and Folgore badging on the fenders and tailgate. Buyers can choose from an extensive palette of 24 exterior colours and a range of 19- to 21-inch alloy wheels.

Interior & Features

The Grecale Folgore’s cabin stays largely familiar when compared to its petrol-powered counterpart. The layout continues with a trio of digital displays, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, and an 8.8-inch lower screen dedicated to climate controls. True to Maserati tradition, the Folgore offers extensive personalisation options. Buyers can choose from 16 interior upholstery colours as well as an exterior body colour kit, rear privacy glass, and a panoramic sunroof. Tech and comfort upgrades include a premium 1,285W Sonus Faber audio system with 21 speakers, a heated leather steering wheel, and both front and rear parking sensors. The steering wheel gets large metal paddle shifters and handy media controls.

Blending Performance With Electric Refinement

With the Grecale Folgore, Maserati aims to bring its signature driving feel to the electric era. The brand’s engineers have tuned the power delivery and suspension setup to replicate the responsiveness and agility of the traditional Grecale while reducing emissions to zero. The battery’s placement along the floor helps maintain a low center of gravity, improving stability in corners and offering balanced handling. While priced at the higher end of the luxury EV spectrum, the Grecale Folgore offers Italian design, strong performance, and modern technology. It also serves as an important step in Maserati’s broader plan to transition its entire lineup to electric power by the end of the decade.
