Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara 7 Seater Spotted Testing

Grand Vitara has been a crucial part of Maruti’s Nexa line-up, The news of a 7-seater Grand Vitara had surfaced on the internet for a long period. Recently, the 7-seater Grand Vitara was spotted testing on the Indian roads. And here are the spy shots

The 7-seater Grand Vitara was spotted testing alongside the EVX. The 7-seater Grand Vitara is code-named to be Y17. It will be competing with Hyundai’s Alcazar and MG Hector Plus.

Powertrain

Under the hood, the Y17 will be getting a 1.5L K12C mild hybrid engine, which produces 102PS and 137NM torque. Which can be paired with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. A 1.5L 3-cylinder strong hybrid engine should also be available, that produces 114PS and 147NM torque, coupled with a CVT transmission.

What To Expect?

The 7-seater Vitara might receive some updates from the currently available 5-seater Vitara. It might get a 6-seater option as well, here are the changes expected from the currently available Vitara :

• Revised Headlight design
• New Grill

Launch Timeline

The 7-seater Grand Vitara is expected to go under production by mid of this year, and it might get launched by the end of this year or at the start of next year. At the moment, we don’t have any official confirmation and details regarding this from the Brand.
